Infecting the City – Invitation

Treacle have been invited to develop a new intervention for the Infecting the City Festival in Cape Town, South Africa, opening on the 15.02.2010.

Amsterdam Biennale – Invitation

In December we will be curating the Stuttgart Pavilion at the Mediamatic Biennale in Amsterdam, opening on the 05.12.2009.

We are currently three weeks into our six week MOKS residency in Estonia and enjoying every minute of it. Documentation from some of our initial experiments will be posted in the near future.

X-Wohnungen Wien – Invitation

Treacle have been invited by Brut Wien to develop a contribution for X Wohnungen Wien, due to take place between the 24th and the 27th of September 2009.

X Wohnungen Wien is a site-specific project that follows two unique tours through the „Stuwerviertel“, part of the 2nd district (Leopoldstadt) in Vienna. Each tour consists of seven performances, events or installations that inhabit and respond to a series of private flats.

Stuttgarter Tanznacht 2009 – Schlaflabor

Thanks to everybody for your kind and thoughtful comments regarding our recent installation Schlaflabor. Details regarding the event, alongside a collection of these comments, a few images and a short evaluation will be posted here in the near future.

A special thanks goes to the nightshift workers, DJ Winson, Andreas Lorenzen (Fireman), Achim Staudenmaier (Policeman), Ahmet Ögretmen (Kebab seller), Holger Heinz (Hotelier), Herr Sacher (Nightwatch), Ralph Schuster (Paramedic), Sascha Öztürk (Courier), Herr Baumgartner (Cinema film courier), the taxi driver with the numberplate S-GA-766  and the Abfall Wirtschaft Stuttgart (Street cleaning department).

Stuttgarter Tanznacht – Invitation

Treacle have been invited to create an interactive installation for the Stuttgarter Tanznacht 2009. Schlaflabor will offer the festival audience an opportunity to sleep, for as long as they wish, throughout the event. Each bed is playfully dedicated to nightshift workers that we have met in the vacinity of the theatre.

The event takes place on the 6th of June 2009, running from 6pm to 6am. More information coming soon.

Talking Shop in Audley Range

Our two week Talking Shop residency in Audley Range Blackburn has come to an end, culminating in a public event and the creation of a new publication, ‘The Heroes of Audley Range’. During our stay we gave shopkeepers in the area the chance to reflect on their business and its position within the community, collecting, recording and piecing together the past, present and future perspectives of those we met.

Talking Shop – Invitation

Between February and April we will be collaborating with Martina von Holn to undertake a short residency in Blackburn. Talking Shop responds to, interacts with and documents local shops and small businesses within an area known as Audley Range.

‘Between Skins’ wins the Stuttgarter Theaterpreis

Festival der Regionen – Invitation

Following our research residency last month we have been commisioned to present a new site responsive intervention, currently called ‘Rent a dog‘, at the 2009 Festival der Regionen.
