March 2003, Williamson Tunnels Heritage Center, Liverpool
In collaboration with the Merseyside Youth Orchestra and the composers Mathias Fleischer and Tobias Grunwald we created a classical concert that was highly specific to the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Center, responding to the history, architecture, and atmosphere of the site.
The audience arrived into a bacon and beans atmosphere, complete with the smell of sizzling bacon, before being guided through the tunnels to a series of musical sections in remarkable settings, their hard hats transformed into top hats.
